Drawing on this ambiguity, my early installations explored how bodies conform—or fail to conform—to the roles and functions assigned to them, both individually and collectively. For several years, my interest in ceramics has been part of a broader reflection on the changing status of craft practices within contemporary art. Long regarded as a secondary medium associated with craftsmanship, decorative arts, domesticity, and women, ceramics is now experiencing renewed interest. This resurgence challenges traditional hierarchies between art and craft, blurring the boundaries between what is culturally valued as art and what belongs to the sphere of everyday life. Yet everyday life is not only the framework through which we experience the world—shaping our perceptions and behaviours—but also the space where objects, environments, and routines exert a profound influence on us. It is where the material conditions of existence are produced and maintained. It is also a site from which social transformation and emancipation can emerge. As Silvia Federici writes, it is the “zero point of revolution,” where even the most ordinary gestures can carry social and political significance. Working with ceramics means reclaiming manual and vernacular forms of knowledge. It is a way of recovering autonomy through making as a political gesture, offering an alternative to capitalist and patriarchal models of production. It involves creating objects according to one's needs rather than adapting one's needs to market-driven products, rethinking use value, reconnecting with local materials and environments, and embracing invention, improvisation, and transformation as creative possibilities. presents a series of sculptural display-stands designed to showcase books or other documents that students wish to share. Unlike a rationalized and efficient library system, &nbsp;encourages a playful approach and a physical, intuitive relationship to the sharing of knowledge. Implicitly, it invites attention to the ways in which information is communicated to us and emphasizes the importance of the medium through which knowledge is transmitted, as much as the content itself - echoing, for example, McLuhan’s theories. Intended for use by students as a book exchange or a participatory library, it fosters exchange: students can borrow or leave books in a spirit of sharing. This practice embodies the idea of the school/artwork as a physical space in which these exchanges of knowledge take place. Le Sanglier, located in a forested region of the Belgian Ardennes—an area where hunting holds strong cultural significance—I conceived and created this mural as a kind of sample of the surrounding forest floor. Within it, one can discover traces of wild boar footprints, ferns, pinecones, and many mushrooms. I took impressions of the forest floor and then transferred them into ceramic. I mixed my own glazes, applying them in abstract, painterly layers to evoke a dreamlike, poetic quality in this vertically installed landscape on the hotel walls. The mural stretches over 9 meters in length, divided into five panels, each 1.4 meters high. The piece has just been installed, although the hotel construction is not yet fully completed. Others are "purposeless" forms, devoid of a specific functional meaning. This artwork serves as a support for other pieces and also functions as a standalone installation, acting as a stage for other artworks or as a scene that can remain empty. The shelf is not seen here solely as functional furniture, but as a source from which imagination can emerge—a space where things grow beyond their utility, like budding ideas that come to the surface.
